AristotleThe Department of Mathematics and Statistics at San Diego State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Data Science, beginning in Fall 2015. Focused research areas include but are not limited to machine learning, large-scale statistical analysis, Bayesian methods, biostatistics, and/or business/financial analytics. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a closely related field, and demonstrate excellent teaching skills and outstanding research potential. Preference may be given to candidates in the focused research areas described above and to those who would be able to augment or interact with existing groups within the Division of Statistics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in our PhD program in Computational Statistics, as well as in our BS and MS programs in statistics and biostatistics.
